Fair Housing Statement
Our Commitment
Harry Moore and eXp Realty LLC fully support the principles of the Fair Housing Act. We are committed to providing equal housing opportunities to all individuals regardless of any protected characteristic and actively promote an environment of diversity and inclusion throughout the DC Metro Area communities we serve, including Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia.
What the Fair Housing Act Prohibits
The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of dwellings based on:
- Race
- Color
- National origin
- Religion
- Sex
- Familial status (including households with children under 18, pregnant individuals, and people securing custody of children under 18)
- Handicap / disability
Additional State and Local Protections
Because we serve clients across the DC Metro Area, additional protected classes apply depending on jurisdiction:
- Maryland also protects: marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and source of income.
- The District of Columbia also protects: age, marital status, personal appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, family responsibilities, political affiliation, source of income, place of residence or business, status as a victim of domestic violence, sexual offense, or stalking, and homeless status.
- Virginia also protects: elderliness (age 55 and older), source of funds, sexual orientation, gender identity, and military status.
What This Means for Our Clients
We will not:
- Refuse to sell, rent, or negotiate with any person based on a protected characteristic
- Change the terms, conditions, or services offered based on a protected characteristic
- Deny that housing is available when it is, based on a protected characteristic
- Engage in "steering" - directing buyers or renters toward or away from neighborhoods based on protected characteristics
- Provide false or misleading information about available housing based on a protected characteristic
Our Active Commitment to Diversity
We actively promote and are committed to fostering an environment of diversity throughout our work. Every client deserves the same level of expert, compassionate real estate guidance, regardless of background, identity, or protected status.
